When Sasol was preparing to move into its new, single headquarters, Betapoint was tasked with managing the consolidation and relocation of 900 valuable artworks to the new venue. The artworks, previously displayed throughout 11 different offices, were removed from the old buildings, packaged professionally and stored until they could be relocated to Sasol Place, Sasol’s new global headquarters.

Betapoint developed a tailored, strategic solution aimed at deriving maximum benefit from the artworks, while maintaining asset value. We guided Sasol on the allocation and installation of 150 artworks across the entire building and designed Sasol Place to include an art gallery on the ground floor. The Sasol collection represents a significant investment, Betapoint identified a solution aimed at long-term preservation of the artworks and their value. Betapoint played an integral part in driving a Sasol Place sculpture project – the large-scale commissioning of original sculptural art by prominent South African artists. Betapoint’s experienced communications team helped raise awareness amongst employees about the collection, showing employees how and why art spaces are critical for a creative, stimulating, inspiring and progressive work environment. Sasol’s dedicated new art spaces not only reflect the company’s passion for art and its innovative qualities, but also recognise and celebrate the role of public art in the workplace.
